Answer- Methods to find out the wind direction at a given place are 

a) Use anemometer for wind wane .

b) Take a bit of paper on your palm and the piece will fly in the direction of wind is blowing

Q3. State to experience that made you think that air exerts pressure (other than those given in the text)? 

Answer- a) It is easy to fly kite in the direction of wind due to pressure exerted by air 

b) Leaves of the trees flutter due to the pressure of air

Q4. You want to buy a house would you like to buy a house having windows but not ventilators explain your answer? 

Answer- No I like to buy a house with window and with ventilator also because smoke comes from the kitchen and warm air being lighter and rises up and there is no outlet like ventilators so it is difficult to escape the warm air so it  will heat up the room and could cause suffocation

Q5. Explain why holes are made in hanging banners and hoardings .

Answer- Air  exert pressure in all direction if the hanging banners and hoardings have not hole then the wind may tear them off or make them fall so holes let the air pass through that holes and reduce the air pressure

Q6.  How will you help your neighbours in case cyclone approaches your village / town? 

Answer-  We should do following approaches 

a) Help a neighbour to shifting their important household goods and their cattle and vehicles in safer place 

b) Try to communicate with government agencies like a fire brigade ,medical centre, police and other emergency services .

c) We should store more drinking water .

d) Which tool should Store the long term eatable food material

Answer- a) store in a food in the water proof bags 

b) Keep all the emergency number services like a police ,hospital and friends and relatives ready .

c) store enough drinking water .

e) make the all necessary arrangements to shift the essential materials at a safer place.
